UKRI have announced round 10 of the Future Leaders Fellowships, supporting early career researchers and innovators for up to seven years, during their development to research or innovation leadership. Projects are initially up to four years, with the option to apply to renew for a further three years.

The scheme aims to enable the next generation of researchers and innovators to benefit from outstanding support to develop their careers, and to work on difficult and novel challenges in ambitious programmes of research.

The University of St Andrews would like to invite interest from a diverse range of internal and external candidates who wish to apply for a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) with the University of St Andrews as their host organisation.

University of St Andrews Application Process:

Due to the highly competitive nature of these fellowships, there will be an internal selection process. The University of St Andrews can submit four applications, which must first be nominated by a University of St Andrews School or Department. Applicants will need to demonstrate the “added value” UKRI’s investment will have on their career and how the funding will enable them to become a leader within their field.

If you believe you are eligible and are interested in applying, please discuss your potential application with the Director of Research in the relevant School. Please note your interest as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for the internal School or Department process.

The full UKRI eligibility criteria and information can be found in the UKRI funding finder Future Leaders Fellowships call.
